Through the study, the student acquires theoretical knowledge important for understanding the issue of protection of persons and property, which, using the process of risk assessment and treatment, can be applied to specific areas of physical protection in the field of mechanical, electrical, or regime prevention systems with predictions for the future.

Course objectives
Through the study, the student acquires theoretical knowledge important for understanding the issue of protection of persons and property, which, using the process of risk assessment and treatment, can be applied to specific areas of physical protection in the field of mechanical, electrical, or regime prevention systems with predictions for the future.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- describe and specify physical security
- characterize security and break it down
- describe the legal framework, development trends and terminology.
- describe the concept and purpose of technical perimeter and casing protection. spatial and object.
- describe the purpose of physical security, its terminology, breakdown, tactics, methodology, goal, function incl. mode protection.
- further description and characteristics of camera, alarm and surveillance systems and their access and attendance systems, RFID technologies, etc.
- the student will be able to characterize and control the issue of biometric signs and systems.
- the student will be able to master the description of the theory of risk assessment in physical security. Identification, analysis, assessment and treatment of risks.
- he will also be able to technically assess risks - the choice of appropriate techniques for the process of risk assessment in physical security and he will master comprehensive security expertise of the object.

  • 1. Physical security - characteristics, breakdown, legal framework, development trends, terminology.
  • 2. Technical peripheral protection.
  • 3. Technical shell protection.
  • 4. Technical protection of space, object.
  • 5. Physical security - terminology, breakdown, tactics, methodology, goal, function.
  • 6. Mode protection.
  • 7. Camera, alarm and surveillance systems.
  • 8. Access and attendance systems, RFID technology.
  • 9. Biometric systems in object protection.
  • 10. Theory of risk assessment in physical security. Identification, analysis, assessment and treatment of risks.
  • 11. Risk assessment techniques - choosing appropriate techniques for the risk assessment process in physical security.
  • 12. Security expertise, risk analysis, forecasting, object protection planning.

Teaching methods
Teaching with PowerPoint support (presentation), exercises, group solutions, independent preparation of a seminar paper with subsequent group discussion and evaluation by the teacher. Methods of learning, description and verification of knowledge acquired by the student during lessons and exercises.
Assessment methods
Seminar work on a pre-approved topic, a case study of theoretical application knowledge in practice, public defense of case study results.
