Course objectives
The course on Public International Law introduces students to the basic concepts and elements of international law.In the general part of the course students will deal with two key chapters concerning the sources and subjects of international law.Those chapters relate to current issues regarding the activities of states and international organizations on the international scene. In the special part of the course, students will address the issue of responsability and liability under international law, the protection of human rights and the prosecution of persons suspected of crimes under international law. The aim of the course is to clarify the practical relevance of international law issues in the current (global) debate. The lectures and seminars will therefore focus oncases from the practice of States and international organizations, as well as the case law of international judicial institutions.

  • 1. Základní pojmy mezinárodního práva. Vymezení vůči vnitrostátnímu právu.
    2. Systametika pramenů mezinárodního práva.
    3. Kodifikace mezinárodního práva a právo mezinárodních smluv.
    4. Vztah mezinárodního a vnitrostátního práva.
    5. Koncepce subjektivity podle mezinárodního práva.
    6. Kritéria státnosti.
    7. Právní postavení mezinárodních organizací ajednotlivců.
    8. Odpovědnost podle mezinárodního právo.
    9. Mírové urovnání mezinárodních sporů.
    10. Judiciální mechanismy v MPV.
    11. Mezinárodní ochrana lidských práv.
    12. Mezinárodní trestní právo.
