Course objectives

The course aims at presenting market related policies - competition policy, industrial policy andmarket regulation, their rational and impact on business companies. The course familiarizes students with the main institutionsrelated to the enforcement of these policies andexplains how firms through their strategies compete, acquire and maintain market power. In addition the course provides introduction into the tools of the industry or market structure analysis.

  Soutěžní politika: Historie a výkonzákonů na ochranu konkurence
  Firma a stát
  Struktura trhů , strategie firem a hospodářské politiky státu
  Fúze a akvizice: Příčiny a důsledky. Schvalování fúzí - případy
  Měření tržní moci. Tržní koncentrace. Definice relevantního trhu.
  Konkurence, konkurenční síly. Překážky konkurence.
  Monopol: Příčiny a důsledky.Překážky vstupu na trh. - případy
  Koluze a kartelové dohody - případy
  Zákaz státní podpory podniků. Efekty státní podpory podnikové sféry – případy
  Informace a marketingové strategie firem, necenová konkurence
  Technologický pokrok, inovační aktivita firem a patenty
  

Assessment methods (in Czech)

Předmět jeukončen zkouškou. Seznam otázek bude k dispozici. Součástí je zkoušky je případová studie (konkurenční síly ve vybraném odvětví,zakázaná kartelová dohoda apod.)
