Předmět se zabývá rolí armády v politice. Absolventi se seznání s charakterem armády jako instituce, různými způsoby jejího podřízení politickým elitám, metodami a formami vojenských intervencí do politické sféry a charakterem vojensko-civilních vztahů ve vybraných státech.

  • - Armáda jako instituce. - Metody a formy intervence armády do politiky, civilní řízení a demokratická kontrola armády. - Objektivní a subjektivní kontrola armády v pojetí S. Huntingtona, přístupy dalších autorů (Janowitz, Finer) - Vztah armády a politiky v konsolidovaných demokraciích. - Vztah armády a politiky v tranzitivních zemích. - Armáda a politika v autoritativních režimech.
