- Course objectives
- The course outlines the developments in the Eastern Europe after 1991. It seeks the roots of the current developments in the three republics: Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. It should challenge the myths about the countries, seek the questions why they developed so differently. The course does not aim at commenting the current affairs, but seeks scientific explanation of them.

- Studenti mají do značné míry možnost ovlivnit průběh kurzu s ohledem na své preference. Následující struktura je tak spíše návrhem.
1. Rozpad Sovětského svazu
2. problémy nástupnictví
3. devadesátá léta - proč se jednotlivé státy vyvíjely tak, jak se vyvíjely?
4. oligarchie - jak vypadala a vypadá v jednotlivých zemích? Jaké jsou odlišnosti, shody?
5. ekonomické modely - je Rusko tržní ekonomikou?
6. ruská politika
7. ukrajinská politika
8. běloruská politika
9. zahraniční vztahy mezi zeměmi
10 obrana a vojenské vztahy
11. aktuální spory (nejen Ukrajina)..
- Studenti mají do značné míry možnost ovlivnit průběh kurzu s ohledem na své preference. Následující struktura je tak spíše návrhem.
- Assessment methods (in Czech)
- Studenti píší práci na zadané téma. Známku nicméně dostávají až na základě pohovoru vycházejícího z jejich práce. Během semestru pak musí představit krátké expozé své práce. Orbánová, Anita, Moc, energie a nový ruský imperialismus, Argo, 2010.
