Příspěvek popisuje stručný exkurz do oblasti služební (policejní) kynologie. V příspěvku je popsána historie, současnost a dispozice služební kynologie v podmínkách Policie ČR, zejména z pohledu metodického útvaru policejního prezidia - ředitelství služby pořádkové policie - odboru služební kynologie a hipologie, které zajišťuje chov psů a jejich výcvik ve svých střediscích. V příspěvku nalezne čtenář ve stručnosti smysl použití služebního psa pro služební účely, kategorie dovedností, požadavky na kynologickou činnost, délku výcviku a specifika výcvikových středisek i chovatelské stanice.

The paper describes a brief excursion into the field of service (police) cynology. The paper describes the history, present and disposition of service cynology in the conditions of the Police of the Czech Republic, especially from the perspective of the methodological unit of the Police Presidium - Directorate of the riot police - the department of service cynology and hipology, which provides breeding of dogs and their training in its centers. In the paper, the reader will briefly find the meaning of using a service dog for service purposes, categories of skills, requirements for cynological activities, length of training and specifics of training centers and kennels.
