Abstract
The purpose of the study is to describe the basic security risks associated with the operation of hotels in the Czech Republic, especially hotels with higher accommodation capacities, to evaluate the current state of hotel safety, not only in terms of physical safety, but also the safety and health protection of persons located on the premises of hotels, both accommodated guests and staff. The basic legislation dealing with the issues of security, safety and tourism will also be briefly described. The authors will analyse security risks using selected methods and propose measures to minimize security risks, taking into account the financial demands of their application in practice in the context of the current energy crisis, which will undoubtedly affect the rising prices of not only accommodation, but will affect tourism as such. The paper will contain the main findings after the analyses, the conclusion of the submitted paper will consist of an interpretation of the findings and a proposal for the implementation of specific measures leading to minimizing security risks in the hotel industry.
