Course objectives (in Czech): Cilem tohoto kursu bude seznámit účastníky s klíčovými teoriemi státu v moderní epoše, od Hobbese přes Rousseaua a Hegela až po 20. století. Důraz bude věnován na různá pojetí vztahu státu a práva a vztahu státu a společnosti a jejich relevanci z perspektivy současných problémů postindustriální společnosti. Rozebírány budou koncepty suverenity a legitimity a jejich aktuálnost, stejně jako otázka "konce státnosti" v postmoderní době, v souvislosti s evropskou integrací.
