- Cíle předmětu
- The objective of this course is to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the monetary and financial system, focusing on key concepts such as the role and functions of money, the structure and significance of the banking system, the process of money creation, and the implementation of monetary policy. Through a combination of theoretical exploration and practical analysis, students will gain insight into the design and implementation of monetary policy, its objectives, and its effects on the economy. By the end of the course, students will be able to critically evaluate monetary policy decisions, assess their impact on macroeconomic variables, and understand the mechanisms through which monetary policy influences economic outcomes. Additionally, students will develop awareness of the institutional framework surrounding monetary policy and the challenges and opportunities inherent in modern monetary systems.
- Výstupy z učení
- Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to get understanding in these areas:
Money and Monetary Policy: Students will be able to explain the concept of money and its functions in an economy. Analyze the role of central banks in formulating and implementing monetary policy. Evaluate the impact of monetary policy on inflation, interest rates, and economic stability.
Banking Operations: Students will be able to understand the core operations of commercial banks, including deposit creation and lending activities. Analyze the role of banks in the money supply process.
Financial Markets: Students will be able to identify and describe different types of financial markets, including money and capital markets. Analyze the functions of financial markets in facilitating the flow of funds in the economy.
Risk Management: Students will be able to evaluate financial institutions' various risks, such as credit, market, and operational risks. Describe strategies and tools financial institutions use to manage and mitigate risks.
Ethical Considerations: Students will be able to identify ethical issues and dilemmas in the financial industry. Analyze the importance of ethical behavior in financial decision-making. - Osnova
