Course objectives

The course should provide students with an understanding of integration processes in Europe and their economic aspects. The emphasis is on the functioning of the common market.. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to understand the historical development of the European integration and institutional structure of the EU, explain the theories and concepts behind the economic integration, describe policies implemented within the Common Market, identifycurrent difficulties of Eurozone, critically asses outcomes of the EU membership and integration for businesses and thus provide students with insights useful for their future career

  Class 4 EU Laws, institutions and decision making, role of lobbies

  Class 6EU trade policy, free movement of goods
  Class 7 Free movement of capital and services
  Class8 EU competition policy, state aid ban
  Class 9 Economic and Monetary Union, financial crisis and banking union
  Class 10 Fiscal discipline of member states and the debt crisis,the stability pact
